About the festival
Belief in a miracle is the most important element of children's and adolescent cinema, something that supports and forms an adult personality. The purpose of the Film Festival is to expand the understanding of Russian viewers about the development of children's and youth cinema in the world and Russia, to unite and to continue cultural development of the audience around the theme of dreams and miracles.
The Gorky Film Studio, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Kaliningrad Region, is holding the First International Film Festival "World of Wonder" from June 22 to 26, 2023.
Films for teenagers and made by teenagers, new formats of educational activities, master classes, creative meetings and battles, performances and discussions are what form the programs of the World of Wonders Film Festival. The festival will host two competitions: international and animation, as well as several non-competition programs.
An important component of the film festival is the educational cluster. In the spring of 2023, the laboratories began their work. The laboratories are designed to identify professional and creative training of laboratory participants aged from 5 to 12 years (animation laboratory), from 14 to 20 years (multimedia laboratory, script laboratory, producer-documentary laboratory) for further development of creative skills and preparation of professional competencies.
To evaluate the films participating in the International Competition, there is an audience jury, which includes all the viewers participating in the voting. Voting takes place at each competition screening by distributing questionnaires to all interested viewers. A children's jury is created for the animation competition in coordination with the Organizing Committee of the film festival.
